Jos Buttler Reveals His Immense Fandom For MS Dhoni

England wicketkeeper-batsman Jos Buttler has always been known for being a huge admirer of former Indian skipper, MS Dhoni. Buttler recently expressed that he has honned his big-hitting and finishing from one of the best finishers of modern-day cricket, Dhoni. MS, who is leading Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in the ongoing IPL 2020, had gifted his No. 7 jersey to Buttler after a fixture between RR and CSK.

Speaking of his admiration for Dhoni, Buttler had revealed his love for the helicopter shot of the veteran. Recalling the moment that made him a big fan of the Indian skipper, Jos stated that he is a big admirer of MS Dhoni’s 2011 World Cup final innings, where the latter had samshed 91 unbeaten off 79 balls against Sri Lanka.

During a recent chat with TOI, Buttler said, “I like his demeanor on the field. How cool and calm he is. I like his explosive batting, the helicopter shot. I always watched IPL on TV. I remember some of the great innings he has played. One thing I really love is the 2011 World Cup final. How he walked out to bat and said I am going to see this home. That was inspiring and the way he finished the game with a six. It always resonated with me.”

Further in the interaction, Buttler opined on the huge money a player receoves while playing in the Indian Premier League (IPL. The Rajasthan Royals swashbuckling batsman reckons that a player definitely feels pressure of the price tag definitely because of the expectations. Though the batsman is not in his best form in IPL 2020, he is doing a decent job as he has accumulated 293 runs in 12 fixtures thus far.

Buttler elaborated, “Price tag adds to the expectations. It’s another skill you have to learn. The best players can put that aside and focus on the ball coming to you. When Ben Stokes and me bat together, we are just concentrating on the ball. We don’t really think of outside expectations. I don’t try bat in one way and try playing the situation,” he asserted.
