Lucknow Super Giants have received a timely lift in their IPL 2026 campaign with the arrival of Josh Inglis ahead of their must-win clash against the Mumbai Indians at the iconic Wankhede Stadium. The 31-year-old wicketkeeper-batter, whose availability had remained uncertain since the auction, has now joined the squad and begun training.

Inglis had previously informed franchises that he would miss part of the season due to personal commitments, including his wedding in Western Australia on April 18, which delayed his arrival in India.

Despite the uncertainty, LSG invested ₹8.6 crore to secure his services after his release from Punjab Kings. With the team currently languishing at the bottom of the table with just two wins from eight matches, Josh Inglis’ inclusion couldn’t have come at a better time.

LSG’s batting unit has struggled for rhythm this season, particularly from overseas players. Josh Inglis, known for his aggressive strokeplay and ability to counterpace, is expected to inject much-needed momentum into the lineup. His previous IPL campaign showcased his value, scoring 278 runs in 11 innings at a strike rate exceeding 160.

His matchup against Jasprit Bumrah could prove decisive. Josh Inglis has shown he can handle high-quality pace, and his confidence against Bumrah in past encounters adds intrigue to this contest.

The upcoming clash is crucial for both sides, with the Mumbai Indians also struggling to find consistency this season. As both teams approach a critical phase in the tournament, this fixture could shape their playoff hopes.
