India and Royal Challengers Bangalore captain, Virat Kohli, has once again proved that the concept of ‘power hitting’ is just a cliche in T20 cricket. Even with the amount of runs that he scores, Kohli relies more on timing than his power.
A similar shot off Corey Anderson was exemplary of his timing and demonstrated the truth of him being one of the top batsmen in world cricket.
Kohli won the toss and elected to bat first against Delhi Daredevils in the last league encounter of the tenth season of the Indian Premier League. On the first delivery of the ninth over, in what looked like a batsman checking his shot, Kohli managed to add six runs to his tally through the same.
The best part about timing is that it astonishes you even more than power does. Kohli ended up scoring 58 (45) with the help of three fours and three sixes. Watch the full video:
