Exactly 13 years ago, Justin Langer scored his 20th Test hundred, third double hundred, 215 (368), with the help of 25 fours & three sixes, against New Zealand in a ‘Man of the Match’ performance at Adelaide.

Having won the first Test at Brisbane by an innings and 156 runs, Ricky Ponting, the then Australian captain, won the toss and chose to bat. In addition to Langer’s double hundred, Matthew Hayden, Ricky Ponting, Darren Lehmann, Adam Gilchrist and Shane Warne had scored individual half-centuries.

Chasing Australia’s 575 in the first innings, New Zealand were bundled out for 251 in 88.1 overs. Australia did not enforce the follow-on, giving the visitors a target of 464 runs in the fourth innings. Eventually, they won the match by 213 runs.
