South Africa’s Kagiso Rabada has shot to the number one spot in the ICC Test rankings for bowlers surpassing India’s Jasprit Bumrah. This was during the recent test played against Bangladesh in Mirpur, where Rabada bagged nine wickets that lifted him to such great heights. He claimed his 300th test wicket while playing for South Africa against Bangladesh, picking up three wickets in the first innings and a solid six in the second.
This was a great milestone for Rabada because he became the third-fastest South African bowler to reach 300 Test wickets in terms of matches played, and he became the fastest in terms of balls bowled when he achieved the feat in just 11,817 deliveries. Rabada earlier held the number-one ICC Test ranking for bowlers from January 2018 to February 2019 and had been consistently within the top 10 rankings.

Kagiso Rabada’s latest bagging also took him past Josh Hazlewood and Ravichandran Ashwin, who were above him earlier. With this change in ranking, Hazlewood is now second, Bumrah third, and Ashwin fourth.
