The young Indian fast bowler, Kamlesh Nagarkoti pulled off a sensational flying catch to get rid of Jofra Archer in Wednesday’s Indian Premier League (IPL) 2020 match between Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) and Rajasthan Royals (RR). Earlier in the match, RR skipper, Steve Smith decided to bowl first citing the dew issues as both the team made no changes in their respective squads.
Nagarkoti, playing his first season with KKR, had earlier picked his maiden IPL wicket when he dismissed Robin Uthappa off the first ball of the seventh over. Two deliveries later, he also got the wicket of Riyan Parag out on a night when India’s other two U-19 World Cup winners – Shivam Mavi (two for 20) and Shubman Gill (34-ball 47) put Kolkata in a winning position as they had scored a good total of 174/6 in their quota of 20 overs.

Kolkata splashed the cash on Kamlesh Nagarkoti in the 2018 auction, but the pacer remained sidelined for two seasons due to a series of injuries. Playing in his first Dream11 IPL season, the 20-year-old showcased a glimpse of his potential during their win against Hyderabad,
On the fourth ball of the 15th over, after smashing a six on the second delivery, Jofra Archer looks to go big again, but this time he has sliced this up. And what a catch from Nagarkoti. He runs across from his position at long-on and almost dives in front of long-off. Would’ve been easier for the other fielder probably, but Nagarkoti showed complete commitment to the effort. Sensational catch. Well done to Chakravarthy too, deceived Archer with the one turning away.

Not a bad day for young Nagarkoti! 2 wickets, a crisp boundary at the end and a seriously good catch. Hopefully he will continue to repay the extraordinary faith that @KKRiders have had in him
