Kane Williamson is one of the best batsmen in modern-day cricket as he is known for his consistent performances. Having Kane in the team is an added advantage. Besides being a good batsman, he is also a very good captain. Currently, he is leading the Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) in the ongoing second leg of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2021. Earlier, David Warner was stripped of SRH captaincy and it paved the way for Kane Williamson to skipper the side.

However, things didn’t go as per the team management’s plan. SRH who is known as one of the consistent teams in IPL failed to live up to the reputation in the 14th edition of the competition. Before taking on Rajasthan Royals (RR), they won just 1 game and lost 8 games. They know that they have no chance of reaching the playoffs but they can play as party-poopers for other teams this time.

SRH locked horns with the Royals in the 40th game at Dubai International Cricket Stadium, Dubai. Batting first, the Royals reached the score of 164/5 in their allotted quota of 20 overs. RR skipper, Sanju Samson was the highest run-getter as he amassed 82 off 57 balls including 7 fours and 3 sixes.

Sunrisers Hyderabad approached the game with a proper game plan during the chase. Jason Roy and Wriddhiman Saha added a 57-run opening partnership. Roy top-scored with 60 off 42 balls including 8 fours and a six.

SRH captain Kane Williamson played a top-notch knock as he chipped in with 51 off 41 balls including 5 fours and a six. Kane might have smashed only one six but he made it look so classy. The eye-catching incident took place during the fifth ball of the 10th over when Lomror bowled slightly wide towards the off-stump. Kane Williamson stylishly timed the ball to perfection and the ball went for a six.
