The final of the first edition of the ICC World Test Championship is scheduled to be played on June 18 in Southampton. India and New Zealand will be locking horns with each other in a marquee battle. Meanwhile, Wisden picked the World Test Championship XI Surprisingly, Indian all-format skipper, Virat Kohli couldn’t manage to make the cut while Kane Williamson has been picked as a captain.
For the opening slots, Rohit Sharma and Dimuth Karunaratne have been picked. Rohit had amassed 1030 runs at an average of 64.57 including 4 centuries and 2 fifties. Karunaratne managed to score 999 runs including 4 centuries and 4 fifties. On the other hand, Marnus Labuschagne has been slotted at No.3. He scored 1675 runs at an average of 72.8 including 5 centuries and 9 fifties.

Steve Smith has been selected to bat at No.4, who has scored 4 centuries and 7 fifties. Williamson has been chosen the leader of the ICC WTC XI and has been slotted at no.5
Ben Stokes had a pretty good World Test Championship. He has scored as many as 1334 runs and smashed 4 centuries. Apart from that, he has also scalped 34 wickets to his name. Rishabh Pant affected 5 stumpings and took 35 catches and apart from that, he has also scored 662 runs at 41.37 and scored 1 century. After that, New Zealand’s Kyle Jamieson follows next on the list.

The lanky fast bowler has scrapped picked up 36 wickets including 4 four-wicket hauls. After that, veteran off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin is the lone spinner in the XI as he managed to pick 67 wickets in 13 games. On the other hand, pace battery comprises world-class bowlers namely Pat Cummins and Stuart Broad. Cummins took 70 wickets in 14 Tests whereas Broad took 69 wickets in 17 matches.
