Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) skipper Kane Williamson will be leaving the team’s camp in order to fly back to New Zealand to be with his wife during the delivery of their baby. The franchise gave an official update about the same on their official Twitter handle. It is to be noted that this will be Williamson’s second child with his wife Sarah Raheem after they welcome a baby girl in December 2020.

A lot of cricketers have already left the IPL bio-bubble in order to fulfill their personal commitments. However, with the playoffs race getting intense, teams would be trying their best to fill their voids as well.

Confirming the update, SRH wrote: “Our skipper Kane Williamson is flying back to New Zealand, to usher in the latest addition to his family. 🧡 Here’s everyone at the #Riser camp wishing Kane Williamson and his wife a safe delivery and a lot of happiness! #OrangeArmy #ReadyToRise.”

The season didn’t go quite well for Kane Williamson as he failed to flaunt his classic colors with him managing to score just 216 runs in 13 games at a dismal average of 19.64 with just one fifty to his name. Even his strike rate of 93.51 didn’t do any good to the Orange Army.

Talking in terms of how the IPL 2022 unfolded for SRH, the team is currently struggling in the eighth slot with just 12 points in 13 games so far. They won their last league match against Mumbai Indians (MI) by three runs in order to keep them alive in the T20 league.

SRH managed to make a comeback to great form in the middle of the season with five back-to-back victories but hit rock bottom again with their dismal show. However, they need to win their last league game, and that too with a good margin to better their NRR to qualify for the playoffs where results of other fixtures will also matter as much.
