While Jadhav was one of the Indian heroes in the Asia Cup 2018 final as he secured the victory for India on the last ball of the game, he suffered a hamstring injury during that chasing. Even one important time of that chasing, Jadhav retired hurt due to that injury, but returned to the crease at the end and finished the game at the final moment with the 23 not-out innings.

After that game, when Jadhav was asked about his injury, he said, “It’s at least Grade I or II tear. Let’s see tomorrow.”

On Saturday, a BCCI official said according to PTI, “Kedar suffered a right hamstring strain which is the other leg from his previous problem. Scans will be done and update on the same will be given in a few days.”

Earlier, Jadhav had suffered the hamstring injury during the IPL 2018 opener when his team Chennai Super Kings (CSK) faced the defending champions Mumbai Indians (MI) at Mumbai. Incidentally, in that game too, Jadhav was initially retired hurt during a chasing, but he returned at the end and secured a thrilling victory as CSK won by 1 wicket with the just only ball to spare.

That injury forced him to miss the remaining IPL 2018 and he also missed the full England tour too. Jadhav returned to the international cricket in this Asia Cup 2018 where he impressed, especially with the ball in hand. But in the crucial final game of the tournament, Jadhav suffered that injury again though he successfully repeated his IPL 2018 opening game action and secured a thrilling victory on the final ball of the game.

Talking about Friday’s final moments of the game, Jadhav said, “I’ve been in this situation few months back.  I knew the field will be up in the end and will be easy to take one or two. The way Kuldeep (Yadav) batted gave me confidence too.”
