KL Rahul and Kevin Pietersen have once again given cricket fans a light-hearted moment to enjoy, with their latest social media exchange quickly going viral during IPL 2026. The Delhi Capitals opener and the former England batter have built a reputation for playful banter over the years, and their friendly chemistry was on display once more after Rahul shared a photo dump from Instagram.

On May 2, Rahul posted eight images that captured some of his key moments from April 2026. Among them was a picture of his expensive black sling bag, which immediately caught Pietersen’s attention. The former DC mentor wasted no time in dropping a cheeky comment on the post, turning what was meant to be a simple memory collage into a viral online exchange.

“Please delete the pic of that bag! WTAF,” Kevin Pietersen wrote. KL Rahul, known for his quick wit, fired back with a classic reply that only added to the fun. “pls stick to doing you 6-7,” he responded.

The exchange is another reminder of the easy rapport the two share. Pietersen stepped away from his role as Delhi Capitals mentor ahead of IPL 2026, saying he could not commit the required time to the job. He had joined the franchise as mentor in February 2025 and spent the 2025 season working closely with the squad. Although DC showed promise under his watch, they missed out on a playoff spot.

During that time, Pietersen and Rahul often shared humorous moments, both on and off the field. In fact, when Pietersen travelled to the Maldives for a mid-season break last year, Rahul had already taken a swipe at him in a DC video.

“A mentor is someone who goes to the Maldives for two weeks mid-season,” KL Rahul joked. That kind of banter has become part of their dynamic, making every interaction between the two worth watching.

Rahul’s current form only adds to the attention around him. He has been one of the standout batters in IPL 2026, scoring 433 runs at an average of 54.12 and a strike rate of 185.83. With three fifties and a century already to his name, he currently leads the Orange Cap race. Kevin Pietersen may no longer be in the DC dugout, but his playful presence still finds a way to stay connected to the franchise through moments like this.
