After facing a demoralizing 1-4 loss in the ODI series against Team India, New Zealand will be looking forward to proving their worth against their formidable opponents in the T20I rubber. In the first T20I of the series in Wellington, the Indian skipper Rohit Sharma decided to bowl first and his bowlers didn’t have a great start as the Kiwi openers amassed 66 runs in the first six overs without losing any wickets. India included Dinesh Karthik, Krunal Pandya and Khaleel Ahmed in the team as compared to the final ODI at the same venue.

The New Zealand openers, Colin Munro (34) and Tim Seifert (84) played ferocious knocks as they added 84 runs for the first wicket before, Munro getting dismissed in the 9th over of the game by Krunal. But, Seifert kept hammering the Indian bowlers as he registered his best ever score in T20Is. However, his inning came to a halt with a brilliant delivery from the Khaleel in the 13th over, at the point, the Kiwis were riding high at 2/134.

On the fourth ball of the over, Khaleel almost bowled a yorker and cleaned the stumps of Seifert. India got a much-needed wicket. Ahmed was quite accurate with his length as he delivered the ball into the blockhole from round the wicket at the pace of 140ks, Seifert can’t keep it out

New Zealand amassed as many as 219 runs in their quota of 20 overs with the loss of six wickets, Hardik was the pick of the bowlers for India as he got two wickets but conceded 51 runs as well. All the other bowlers got one-wicket each.
