The veteran MI all-rounder, Kieron Pollard thanked the almighty, as he helped his team to chase down a target of 219 runs against the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) after being dropped by Faf du Plessis in Delhi. Pollard will manage to retain the momentum after winning back-to-back games as the IPL 2021 is into the halfway point. Pollard was the wrecker-in-chief as Mumbai Indians register a four-wicket win over CSK, as he scored this IPL’s fastest half-century.

Talking about the game during the post-match presentation, Kieron Pollard said, “First of all, I want to thank the almighty for watching over me and giving me the strength. So, yeah, started to bowl [laughs]. Obviously being a small ground, we thought it was the best time for the seamer to bowl.”

Pollard came out all guns blazing against the CSK spinners as he smashed three sixes against Ravindra Jadeja. Pollard conceded that bowlers bowl wide in the nets and hence, gain practice from it. At one stage, Mumbai were teetering at 81/3, but Kieron Pollard turned the tables with his power-hitting at the batting paradise.

Elaborating the same, Pollard said, “They have four overs of spin on a small ground and I looked to hit some sixes against spin. I had to maximize that over from Jadeja. That would always keep us in the game. Each and every time as an individual you have to evolve. Guys bowl wide and a lot of practice goes into it.”

Kieron Pollard further elaborated, “I can’t say I’m 360, but I’m maximizing it [hitting through the off side]. I was fortunate Faf gave me the chance. Good wicket, but the bowlers didn’t do well for us. It was about time the batting stood out. Two wins in the last two games hopefully gives us the momentum into the back end of the tournament.”
