The most successful team in the history of the Indian Premier League (IPL), Mumbai Indians (MI) had a rather forgettable run in the recently concluded IPL 2022. The big names failed to deliver and ultimately, they were the first team to get eliminated from the league. One of their main-stays Kieron Pollard was criticized by former Indian opener, Aakash Chopra and now Pollard had come up with a fiery reply pointing out his IPL 2022 stats.

One of the main reasons for MI’s dismal performance in the tournament was the consistent failures of Kieron Pollard. While he has won many matches for his franchise in the past, this season was an exception for the all-rounder. The fact was pointed out by cricket analyst Aakash Chopra and Kieron Pollard takes a dig at him now for censuring his IPL 2022 stats.

Though the tweet was deleted, it had already caught the fancy of the netizens and started circulating on the internet. The tweet by Pollard read, “Hope the fan base and followers increased @cricketaakash … keep it flowing .. #t20. !!.”

Earlier, Aakash Chopra was quite critical of the MI all-rounder who just couldn’t contribute to his team in the 15th edition of the IPL. Chopra opined that the team should look for youngsters and let Pollard go as the cricketer is not offering much with the ball either. These comments by Chopra may have triggered Pollard to post the tweet, however, the cricketer deleted it later which confused the fans.

On his Youtube channel, Aakash Chopra said, “I think we have seen the last of Kieron Pollard. He should go and Dewald Brevis should come in. How many chances would you give to Pollard? He has just not been scoring runs. His bowling could be useful on this surface but you wouldn’t pick him in the team for his bowling. So I think the time has come to say tata bye-bye to Pollard.”
