Rishabh Pant has been in sublime form in recent times. He did exceptionally well in Australia and then performed well with both the bat and the gloves against England at home earlier this year and helped his side win in both the opponents. After that, he led Delhi Capitals to the first position in the cash-rich Indian Premier League (IPL) before the league got suspended due to COVID-19.

It was Pant’s first season as a captain in the Indian Premier League 2021 after their regular captain Shreyas Iyer got injured which eventually ruled him out of the cash-rich league. While the league was postponed earlier in May after several players and support staff got infected by the deadly COVID-19 virus inside the bio-bubble, the BCCI and the IPL Governing Council has decided to call off the tournament on an immediate basis. However, the league will resume in the UAE during the September-October window as well.

“I feel he (Rishabh Pant) will once again be the key player for us in the World Test Championship final and also in the England series. He is on top of his game at the moment and I think he feels confident enough to change the course of the game with the bat from any position,” Kiran More was quoted as saying by rediff.com.

“I believe he has settled down nicely now. This is his second tour to England, in fact, the third tour if you consider the World Cup in 2019. He knows the conditions well, he has scored a century in a Test match. With the gloves too, I believe he will do a good job,” Kiran More again shared about the young Rishabh Pant.
