Veteran all-rounder Moeen Ali feels that KKR can still make it to the playoffs of IPL 2025 and he wants the team to adopt the same mindset that MI has taken recently. After a slow start to their campaign, Mumbai bounced back with a 4-match winning streak that has seen them reach the top four as well. KKR, on the other hand, have had a poor season and lost their last two games as well. However, KKR will need to win most of their remaining games as well.

“Yes, definitely if you look at history, even if you look at Mumbai, for example, now they had a bit of a bad start and now they’ve won, I think 4 in a row, 5 in a row, and they’re flying. So we also need to have that same mindset and do the same thing where we have, we’re at the halfway stage now, we have to win most of our games. But this squad and team have played well enough so far, I think, to show that we can go on a run and win games. But it’s gonna take a lot of determination, a lot of belief for us to do that, and it’s one of those things and competitions where you can go on a run and win 4 or 5 games in a row,” said Moeen Ali.

Meanwhile, Moeen Ali has played 4 matches so far in the tournament and has been in and out of the squad mostly as well. However, he has retired from international cricket as well.

“To be honest, if you look at where I’m at in my career, it’s not as difficult as if I was younger and a bit more, playing like international cricket and things like that, then it would be a lot harder. But now at my age, it depends on my own mindset. So my mindset is to come and whenever the game requires or the team requires me to play, to be ready and I prepare like I’m playing every game, and then I get told if I’m playing or not. 5–10 years ago it would have been difficult, but now it’s not so difficult,” said Moeen Ali.

“You just crack on and do what the team needs. The reality is when I came here, before I came here, I didn’t think I was going to play too many games anyway, um, so I’ve managed to play 4 so far, so it’s still, from my point, it’s good that I’ve played the 4 games,” concluded Moeen Ali.
