In a video posted on social media, most of the KKR cricketers, including captain Eoin Morgan, Andre Russell, Pat Cummins and Dinesh Karthik, recalled their first meeting with SRK while wishing their co-owner. Dinesh Karthik recalled a holiday in Bali where his ‘Tuk Tuk’ driver identified India with Shah Rukh Khan, Priety Zinta, and their 2004 blockbuster Veer Zara. Andre Russell said he was pleasantly surprised by the humbleness of the Indian cinema icon was when they met for the first time.

England’s World Cup-winning captain Eoin Morgan said he was told that Shah Rukh Khan is the Tom Cruise of India. He said, “Everbody described him as the Tom Cruise of India. He is actually more exciting than Tom Crusie.”

Young India players, including Kuldeep Yadav and Shivam Mavi, also recalled their meetings with Shah Rukh Khan while picking their favorite roles of the superstar actor.

Shah Rukh Khan has often been seen to support KKR from the stadium itself over the years. Despite the pandemic situation, the actor was seen supporting Eoin Morgan’s men from the stands in the UAE at IPL 2020.

On Sunday, KKR managed to keep their hopes alive to reach the IPL 2020 play-offs as they jumped from the 8th spot to the 4th spot on the points table after the 60-run win over Rajasthan Royals (RR). Eoin Morgan had samshed 68* in just 35 balls to push KKR’s score to 191 in 20 overs.

Pat Cummins and Shivam Mavi demolished the Rajasthan top-order as Steve Smith and his men slipped to 37 for 5 in the powerplay. With Varun Chakravarthy scalping some big wickets of Jos Buttler and Rahul Tewatia, RR’s chances of winning went down the drain. KKR will now have to wait for other results to go their way as two more matches remain in the league stage of IPL 2020.
