The 30th match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2021 between Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) and Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) has been postponed as two of the member of the KKR contingent has been tested positive for Covid-19. The match was scheduled to be taking place at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.
The Indian Premier League has been rocked by Covid cases as the KKR players and staff have decided to isolate after multiple players have feel ill ahead of their game against RCB on Monday in Ahmedabad. Accoridng to the recent reports of the Age and the Herald, several people within the KKR camp – which features Australian superstar Pat Cummins – are unwell, and that their match against Royal Challengers Bangalore, scheduled for Monday, is in doubt.

On the other hand, ESPNCricinfo reported that barring Varun Chakravarthy and Sandeep Warrier, the whole KKR squad tests negative for the coronavirus.
It is believed that Chakravarthy recently left the IPL bio-bubble to carry out a scan on his shoulder and he might’ve exposed himself at the hospital. This is the first instance of positive Covid-19 cases to members within the IPL bio-bubble since the commencement of this season. Both the franchise and the IPL are yet to issue a statement.

Knight Riders are currently seventh on the points table, as they managed to win just a couple of matches out of the seven games they have played so far. They last played on Thursday against the Delhi Capitals in Ahmedabad. With a misfiring top-order, overseas combination issues, and questionable powerplay bowling options, they don’t have much time to regather themselves and get back to the winnings way otherwise feel behind in the fight of reaching the play-offs for the third season in a row.
