Indian cricketer KL Rahul has entered the world of volleyball as the co-owner of the Goa Guardians franchise ahead of the fourth season of the Prime Volleyball League (PVL). The tournament will be held in Hyderabad from October 2 to 26, marking a major step in Rahul’s efforts to promote sports beyond cricket.
In a statement, KL Rahul said, “PVL is a turning point for volleyball in India, and its primary objective is to make the sport accessible to more people.” His involvement aims to increase the sport’s reach and inspire young athletes across the country.
Raju Chekuri, principal owner of the Goa Guardians, welcomed Rahul’s participation, emphasising that the cricketer’s passion and vision will help shape a franchise that motivates fans and empowers players. The Goa Guardians will make their debut this season, competing against top franchises in the league.

Currently, KL Rahul is resting as India competes in the Asia Cup 2025 in the UAE, with the senior batter not part of the squad. He is expected to return for India’s home Test series against the West Indies, starting October 2.
And now KL Rahul joins the Prime Volleyball League family as a co-owner of the latest team, the Goa Guardians for Season 4, starting on Oct 2nd.

Rahul is also included, alongside Mohammed Siraj, in India A’s squad for the two-match unofficial Test series against Australia A at Ekana Stadium in Lucknow from September 23 to 26.

The right-handed batter displayed remarkable form on the recent England tour, scoring two centuries in five Tests and providing critical contributions in the absence of senior players like Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli.
