Kings XI Punjab (KXIP) suffered a huge batting collapsed during the match against Mumbai Indians (MI) for the first time in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2020. Batting first, Mumbai posted a humongous total of 191/4 on board for KL Rahul and his men to chase. The brilliant score came on the back of skipper Rohit Sharma’s brilliant knock of 70 off 45 balls.
The cameo of Hardik Pandya (30 off 11) and Kieron Pollard (47 off 20) accelerated MI’s run-flow like fire, and they eventually won the match by 48 runs.

Punjab couldn’t do much as their dangerous openers, Mayank Agarwal and KL Rahul, failed to score much. They suffered a loss in the Super Over in their first outing against Delhi Capitals (DC) and lost a close contest. However, they remained impressive against Rajasthan by posting a huge total of 223 onboard, but unfortunately for them, Royals’ were also in a dangerous form that day.
It was the first time in the last match that the opening stand failed, and the whole order collapsed ultimately. Coming up in the post-match presentation, skipper Rahul stated that Mayank, has worked hard to get hold of the orange cap, but he will take it back soon from him.

As per the quotes in Times Now, Rahul said, “Until and unless that orange cap stays with Kings XI, I’m happy. He’s (Agarwal) worked very hard and deserves that cap. I’m sure I’ll take it off him soon. We are not competing for the cap, we are just looking to play some good cricket. It doesn’t matter who gets the runs, be it Rahul, Maxwell, Pooran, or anyone else.”
