KL Rahul has won the admiration of many through his remarkable off-field gestures, notably by keeping a promise to support a young man’s education. The Indian cricketer has taken on the financial responsibilities of Amrut Mavinakatti, a 20-year-old from Mahalingapura in the Bagalkote district, enabling him to continue his college studies.

As reported by thesouthfirst.com, Rahul has extended his support to Mavinakatti as he pursues his B.Com degree at KLE Technological University in Hubballi. In a conversation with reporters in Hubli, Mavinakatti expressed his gratitude, detailing how KL Rahul had assisted him in gaining admission to the college last year and had pledged to support him financially for his second year as well.

“Last year, KL Rahul helped me get admission into college. I scored a 9.3 CGPA in the first year. He stands by his words and has paid ₹75,000 for my second-year studies,” Amrut Mavinakatti said, emphasizing the importance of Rahul’s support in his academic journey. He also extended his thanks to Manjunath Hebasur and Bagalkot’s Nithin for their financial assistance, vowing to put in sincere efforts to excel in his studies.

While KL Rahul’s career has faced challenges over the past year due to injuries, his resilience has shone through. During the IPL 2023 season, he suffered a hamstring injury that kept him out for most of the tournament and caused him to miss the final of the ICC World Test Championship.

Nevertheless, he made a stunning comeback in the Asia Cup later that year, scoring a century against Pakistan. Following this, he reestablished himself as a vital member of India’s squad across formats, including participating in the ODI World Cup.

However, another setback occurred at the start of the home Test series against England in January, where he sustained pain in his right quadriceps after scoring 86 runs in Hyderabad, which forced him to miss the rest of the series. Despite this, Rahul returned to competitive cricket during IPL 2024, captaining the Lucknow Super Giants, and subsequently made his international comeback on the Sri Lanka tour in July-August.
