KL Rahul Opens Up On His Calm Demeanor And Unique Rituals

In the midst of an injury-induced absence from the ongoing Test series against England, star Indian batsman KL Rahul offered insights into various aspects of his life during a recent rapid-fire interview. Excluded from the squad for the fifth Test, Rahul, who played in the series opener, has been absent from the subsequent matches due to the injury.

In the interview on Star Sports, when questioned about his defining characteristics, Rahul described himself as someone who stays calm and carries a sense of class. On the topic of pre-game rituals, he revealed an unconventional approach, stating that not having specific rituals is, in fact, a ritual for him.

“I don’t really have one. I try to break all my rituals; that, in itself, is a ritual that I have,” remarked Rahul when asked about his pre-game routines.

When discussing his sources of inspiration, Rahul credited his father for life in general and highlighted the influence of AB de Villiers on the cricket field.

“In life, my father, but on the cricket field, I’ve been greatly inspired by AB de Villiers,” he stated.

Asked about his alternative career choice, Rahul indicated that he would have pursued a different sport. Singling out his teammate Ravindra Jadeja, he identified him as the best-bearded player in the team.

 

Addressing breakfast habits, Rahul disclosed a protein-rich start to his day, including four eggs, avocados, a fruit, and a protein shake. In the context of an actor to portray him in a biopic, he expressed a preference for Ranbir Kapoor, citing his previous successful performances in biographical roles.

When questioned about individuals he would like to meet, dead or alive, Rahul named football sensation Cristiano Ronaldo and basketball legend Michael Jordan. His ideal cheat meal includes Biryani and Gajar Ka Halwa (Carrot Pudding) with ice cream. He affectionately referred to his wife as his “4 a.m. friend” due to her late-night habits.

Looking ahead, Rahul expressed enthusiasm about playing in front of home fans at the Ekana Stadium, emphasizing its brilliance and a capacity of around 50,000. He extended an invitation to Lucknow fans to come out in large numbers and support the Lucknow Super Giants.
