The journey of former Indian skipper, MS Dhoni is as inspiring as it can get as it has a lot of anecdotes and incredible stories, but him hailing from a smal town like Rannchi and making it big in world cricket has to be the cherry on the cake. However, recent in a video relase by the Indian Premier League (IPL), the Kings XI Punjab (KXIP) skipper, KL Rahul can be seen talking about the emergence of MS Dhoni.
Speaking about the retirement of MS Dhoni, KL Rahul said, “It was quite an emotional moment for the whole country and for world cricket. We have all grown up wanting to be MS Dhoni. Especially for someone like me who comes from a small town, he was our hero. We always told our families look it doesn’t matter where you come from, you can always go and try and achieve your dreams.”

The stylish batsman who got the opportunity open along with Rohit Sharma for India in the 2019 World Cup for India after Shikhar Dhawan was ruled out due to an injury will be leading KXIP in IPL which is scheduled to be commencing on September 19 in the UAE.
Sharing the his fiorst words when he will be Dhoni next in UAE, Rahul said, “I am sure I won’t have enough words to tell him. I will just give him a long hug and say thank you and probably ask him to go easy on Kings XI this time.”
Incidentally, KL Rahul made his international debut for India in the Melbourne Test against Australia in 2014, which also happens to be the final Test of Dhoni’s career in the longest format. The Bxoing day Test in December 2014, evetually had ended in a draw.

KL Rahul later went on to represent India in ODIs and T20Is and made his debut in those formats under the captaincy of Dhoni.
