One of the main batters in the Indian team, KL Rahul is currently recovering from a quad injury. Rahul pulled his thigh muscle while playing for Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) in the Indian Premier League (IPL) and needed a surgical intervention midway through the tournament. Rahul is currently recovering in London and has even posted photos of him walking on crutches on his social media.
KL Rahul took some time out and spoke on the BeerBiceps podcast about his learnings from two great Indian skippers. The India batter spoke highly of MS Dhoni and learn to build relationships with players in the team. According to Rahul, cricketers could have gone to war for the World Cup-winning Indian captain.

During the podcast, KL Rahul said, “MS Dhoni was my first captain, I have learned a lot from him, he builds a very good relationship with each person, where boys will fight for you and will be with you – that is something I learned from him.”
The Indian opener has not been in the best form of late and has had an injury-marred time in the last year or so. The batter scored 274 runs from 9 games in the IPL 2023 and was once again criticized for his approach at the top of the order. Rahul’s graph has been similar to Kohli’s during the latter’s off-form. Rahul spoke about the former Indian skipper and said that Kohli has to be credited for transforming the fitness standards in Indian cricket.

Talking about Virat Kohli during the podcast, KL Rahul said, “Virat Kohli sets the standard very high and he leads by example. The way he led from the front, showed how to achieve greatness. He inspired everyone in the team. His work ethic, work on fitness & diet. We started paying more attention because of him.”
KL Rahul will be staying out of action for a while and will miss the important World Test Championship (WTC) Final against Australia, which starts on June 7.
