As anticipation builds for the grand finale of the 2024-25 Indian Super League (ISL) season, Indian cricket star and Delhi Capitals’ vice-captain KL Rahul took a moment to send his best wishes to Bengaluru FC ahead of their much-awaited clash against Mohun Bagan Super Giant in the ISL final on Saturday, April 12.

Rahul, a Karnataka native and a proud member of the IPL franchise owned by JSW Sports—the same group that owns Bengaluru FC—shared a heartfelt video message in support of the team. The 32-year-old was also gifted a custom Bengaluru FC jersey bearing his name, a gesture that symbolized the deep bond between the cricketer and the football club.

In the video shared by Bengaluru FC on X, Rahul said, “Hey everyone, this is KL Rahul. Wishing BFC all the very best for the final of the ISL this Saturday. I’m excited, I’m going to watch it, and I will be rooting for all of you guys. Sending Sunil and the rest of the team all the luck. Go out there and enjoy yourselves, and do what you’ve been doing the entire season—playing like champions. Enjoy the final and bring it home for us, Bengaluru. Come on, BFC.”

What adds a layer of intrigue is Rahul’s earlier association with Mohun Bagan SG during his stint with Lucknow Super Giants, a franchise also owned by Sanjiv Goenka. In fact, Rahul had previously attended Mohun Bagan matches, and recently, Rishabh Pant—his successor as LSG skipper—was spotted cheering for the Kolkata side during their semi-final win.

Rahul’s message came just days after his match-winning 93* against Royal Challengers Bengaluru at Chinnaswamy Stadium, where he sealed the victory with a six, followed by a celebration inspired by the film Kantara—a moment that underlined his Karnataka roots and sporting spirit.
