Star Indian wicketkeeper-batter KL Rahul recently gave fans a rare glimpse into his personality off the field, admitting that while he may appear calm and composed during matches, he isn’t always that way. Speaking candidly on the 2 Sloggers YouTube channel, Rahul revealed that he often loses his temper on the field but tries to control his emotions — mostly because his mother keeps a close eye on his behaviour through viral clips.

“This must be Ravi Bishnoi,” KL Rahul joked while reacting to one of his angry on-field videos. “Honestly, it’s not like I’m always calm. Maybe out of 10 people, I’m calmer than one or two of them. But I do get angry; I just hide it well. Whenever those moments come out, the videos go viral and then I get a call from my mother,” he added with a laugh.

The video Rahul reacted to was from his stint as Lucknow Super Giants skipper in the IPL, where his occasional outbursts caught fans by surprise. After leading the franchise for two seasons, Rahul parted ways following IPL 2024 and was signed by Delhi Capitals for a massive ₹14 crore deal ahead of the 2025 season.

Rahul was last seen in India’s recent ODI series against Australia, where he scored 38 and 11 in the first two matches before being rested in the third. Known for his calm exterior and composed batting style, the 32-year-old’s latest revelations show a lighter, more human side to his usually measured demeanour.

During the same chat, Rahul also reflected on a viral moment from the 2023 ODI World Cup game against Sri Lanka. The video showed him making a funny face toward India’s fielding coach T Dilip, signaling that he deserved the “Best Fielder” medal.

“I was telling Dilip sir, ‘Mere teen catch ho gaye hai, aaj mereko medal do!’ (I’ve taken three catches, give me the medal today),” KL Rahul said, laughing.
