Kings XI Punjab (KXIP), under the captaincy of KL Rahul, has made an incredible comeback in the 2020 edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL). From suffering five-consecutive losses, they are currently standing at the fourth position on the points table with 12 points from 13 matches. They were on a five-match winning streak that helped them climb the ladder and put themselves as a contender for the playoffs.

One of the major reasons for KXIP’s decent run in the IPL has been Rahul, who has amassed as many as 641 runs at an impressive average of 58.27. He also has five half-centuries and a century to show for his efforts along with a strike-rate of 130.54. Meanwhile,  a hilarious banter took place between a supporter, Rahul, and fast bowler Sheldon Cottrell. The fan took to Twitter and wrote, “Hey @SaluteCotterell Sir I am Juman from Guwahati. Can I get a reply from @klrahul11? Please help me sir #mydream.”

Replying to the tweet, Cottrell said, “Look I’ll speak to him but he is very busy being the mastermind of epic strategic proportion @klrahul11 @lionsdenkxip #mycaptain.”

Here’s Cottrell’s reply:

The conversation didn’t elude Rahul’s eyes by any means. The youngster reverted to his teammate, saying that he’s trying his best to perform to the best of his abilities.

Rahul also re-tweeted Cottrell’s message, writing, “Haha @SaluteCotterell I try my best. Hey Juman @cool_rahulfan thanks for your support. Stay safe and take care.”

Cottrell, on the other hand, featured in KXIP’s playing eleven from the first match itself. However, he didn’t managed to retain his position for long as fell off the radar as England’s Chris Jordan found his mojo after a couple of poor outings with the ball in hand. In six matches, Cottrell picked up as many wickets at an economy rate of 8.80.
