India and Australia are locking horns with each other in the opening game of the three-match series as the PCA stadium in Mohali. ahead of the game, there was plenty of debate as to which KL Rahul will be coming out to back for India, and thankfully for the Indian fans, it was the right one.

Earlier, the Australian skipper, Aaron Finch won the toss and decided to bowl first on a pitch that has been looking to assist the batters. For the visitors, Tim David received his debut cap while for India, Harshal Patel is back in the XI and Dinesh Karthik has been preferred ahead of Rishabh Pant.

KL Rahul showed early intent as in the second over of the match, as Josh Hazlewood was bowling the Indian opener welcomed him with an unbelievable six off the first ball. Rahul displayed wonderful wristwork to execute a whip over cow corner. The stroke took a lot of people by surprise, including Hazlewood. However, the lanky pacer made a comeback by dismissing the Indian skipper, Rohit Sharma in the same over.

KL Rahul displayed his capability once again in the 8th over off Cameron Green. The hosts lost two wickets early to Rohit and Virat Kohli in the match but Rahul was on fire today and also played with a decent strike rate. Two sixes in his innings till the time of writing have been some of the most gorgeous shots played on a cricket field and the last one was just fantastic.

Cameron Green was bowling the 8th over of the innings and he bowled a delivery straying down the leg on the fourth ball to KL Rahul. The batter made no mistake in producing the best result from smashing a six over a backward square leg with a brilliant flick. Even skipper Rohit Sharma was in awe of the stroke and it was evident from his reaction.
