Royal Challengers Bengaluru all-rounder Krunal Pandya has spoken highly of Virat Kohli, crediting the former India captain for shaping his understanding of preparation, discipline, and consistency at the highest level. According to Pandya, Kohli’s unmatched intensity—both in matches and training sessions—continues to set him apart even in the latter stages of his career.

Despite speculation around workload management following recent retirements in Indian cricket, Kohli has shown no signs of easing off in ODI cricket. His hunger for runs and competitive edge remain as sharp as ever, reinforcing his reputation as one of the most driven batters in world cricket.
Kohli’s current form in the 2026 season with the Royal Challengers Bengaluru has been particularly impressive. In his first 11 matches, he has accumulated 379 runs at an average of around 42, striking at a strong 163.36. While a century has eluded him so far this season, he has already registered three half-centuries, with a top score of 81, underlining his consistency in pressure situations.

Speaking on JioStar’s Superstars, Krunal Pandya reflected on his experience of sharing the dressing room with Kohli once again. “I have learned a lot just by watching Virat Kohli, the way he prepares for a tournament and the intensity he brings to every practice session. I have played with him for India when he was captain and I have also played against him,” Kruanl Pandya said.

“Now, I am lucky to share the same dressing room with him again. What I have realised is that his hunger is still unbelievable. Those eyes don’t lie. The same intensity in every net session, the same hunger to improve,” he added.

Kohli has also adapted his batting approach this season, combining his traditional anchor role with a more aggressive intent. His 42 boundaries and 15 sixes reflect a batter who is not just accumulating runs but also accelerating when required, maintaining a strike rate of 163.36 without compromising stability at the top.
As RCB push deeper into IPL 2026, Kohli’s form and leadership with the bat continue to remain central to their campaign.
