KS Bharat Bids Farewell To International Cricket With Emotional Message

India wicketkeeper-batter KS Bharat has announced his retirement from international cricket, bringing an end to a journey that saw him represent the country in seven Test matches. The Andhra Pradesh cricketer made his Test debut against Australia in Nagpur in 2023 and played his final international match against England in Visakhapatnam. During his brief stint in Test cricket, Bharat scored 221 runs in 12 innings.

The 31-year-old shared the news through an emotional statement, expressing gratitude for the opportunity to wear the Indian jersey and fulfill a lifelong dream. Bharat described representing India as the highest honor of his career and reflected on the sacrifices and determination that helped him reach the international stage.

“With a proud heart and sense of gratitude, I announce my retirement from international cricket. To play for my country has been the greatest honour of my life. This journey of mine has demanded great resilience and strength, but the honour to represent India in Tests was worth every moment.”

KS Bharat also acknowledged the unwavering support of his family, crediting his parents and sister for standing beside him throughout his cricketing journey. He extended his thanks to the BCCI, Andhra Cricket Association, coaches, support staff, teammates, and ground personnel who played a role in his development over the years.

The wicketkeeper-batter reserved special appreciation for several influential figures in his career. He thanked Virat Kohli for providing him with his IPL debut opportunity and expressed gratitude to Rohit Sharma, under whose leadership he earned his Test cap. Bharat also highlighted the role of former India head coach Rahul Dravid, who guided him through the India A setup and helped shape his path to the national team.

Although his international career has come to an end, Bharat made it clear that his involvement in cricket is far from over.
