India wicketkeeper-batter KS Bharat is set to take his talents to England, signing up with London-based Dulwich Cricket Club for the 2025 Surrey Championship campaign. While Bharat has an impressive first-class record, accumulating 5,686 runs in 105 matches with 10 centuries and 32 fifties, he has struggled to cement his place in India’s Test squad.

His red-ball opportunities have dwindled with Rishabh Pant’s return and the rise of promising youngster Dhruv Jurel. At 31, KS Bharat is not giving up on his international aspirations. Instead, he is exploring opportunities abroad, using the Surrey Championship as a platform to prove his worth.

The tournament, known for its competitive cricket, could provide him with a much-needed boost to catch the selectors’ attention. KS Bharat last played a Test for India during the England series in 2024, featuring in the first two matches before being dropped. With just 221 runs at an average of 20.09 in his seven-Test career, he has yet to deliver a standout performance in international cricket.

However, he was trusted as India’s wicketkeeper in the 2023 World Test Championship final against Australia, which India lost at The Oval. His struggles continued in the IPL 2025 auction, where he went unsold despite setting his base price at INR 75 lakh. Bharat, who had previously played for Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) and Delhi Capitals (DC), had shown glimpses of his potential.

His most memorable IPL knock came against Delhi Capitals, where he guided RCB to victory with an unbeaten 78 off 52 balls. Now, with a fresh challenge in England, Bharat will hope to reignite his career and push for a comeback on the big stage.
