The Karnataka State Cricket Association (KSCA) on Thursday decided to allowed 100 percent crowd attendance for the second Test between India and Sri Lanka at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru, owing to a sharp decline in Covid-19 cases and high demand for tickets.

Elaborating the same KSCA treasurer, Vinay Mruthyunjaya said, “KSCA is happy to inform that there has been very good response for viewership of the India vs Sri Lanka Day-Night Test cricket match being played at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bangalore from 12-16 March 2022. “Considering the high volume of response and since there are no further restrictions for spectators, KSCA will be opening up sale of tickets for full capacity of the stadium.”

The prices of the tickets per day have been kept at ₹1250 (Grand Terrace), ₹750 (E-Executive), ₹500 (D Corporate), and ₹100 respectively. The venue, which was scheduled to host the first Test match, former Indian skipper, Virat Kohli’s 100th in the longest format, was with Mohali to felicitate a direct flight back home to Colombo for the Sri Lankans team from Bengaluru.

India won the first Test by an innings and 222 runs to take a 1-0 lead in the two-match series. The series is a part of the ongoing ICC World Test Championship. Bengaluru last hosted a Test match in June 2018 with Afghanistan making their debut in the format.

In the first Test between India and Sri Lanka, which was also Virat Kohli’s landmark 100th Test, 50 percent crowd capacity was allowed at the PCA Stadium in Mohali.

With the second Test against India being a day-night affair, Sri Lanka might consider including Chandimal owing to his vast experience. Toss will also play a crucial role and the visitors would love to bat first which is the only way they will get a chance to put pressure on India.
