Kuldeep Yadav delivered a crucial breakthrough for Delhi Capitals in their IPL 2026 clash against Gujarat Titans, removing a dangerous Jos Buttler at a key stage of the innings. The English batter looked in sublime touch, scoring a quickfire 52 off just 27 balls, laced with five sixes and three boundaries, before his innings was cut short at the Arun Jaitley Stadium on April 8.

Kuldeep struck in the eighth over, producing a cleverly disguised slower delivery that stayed low and crashed into the stumps. Buttler, attempting an aggressive shot towards the leg side, failed to bring his bat down in time.

The dismissal not only ended Buttler’s fluent knock but also broke a vital 60-run partnership with skipper Shubman Gill, shifting momentum back in Delhi’s favour. Notably, this marked the fourth time Kuldeep has dismissed Buttler in T20 cricket, underlining his dominance in this matchup.

Buttler had shown glimpses of form earlier in the season with scores of 38 and 26 against the Punjab Kings and the Rajasthan Royals, respectively. Kuldeep, on the other hand, had a mixed start to IPL 2026, picking up two wickets against Lucknow Super Giants before going wicketless against Mumbai Indians.

Following Buttler’s departure, Gill and Washington Sundar steadied the innings, guiding the Gujarat Titans past early setbacks after losing Sai Sudharsan cheaply. At 152/2 after 14 overs, GT were well-positioned to post a competitive total, with Gill and Sundar building a solid platform.
Delhi Capitals, led by consistent performances this season, will be eyeing a third consecutive win after victories over LSG and MI. Meanwhile, Gujarat Titans will look to bounce back and maintain momentum as the IPL 2026 season continues to heat up.
