Kuldeep Yadav’s spin magic made headlines as the left-arm spinner stepped up with the ball in the absence of veteran R Ashwin on Day 3 of the third Test against England in Rajkot on February 17, Saturday as well. Former cricketers and experts, Anil Kumble and Nick Knight applauded Kuldeep for his exceptional bowling and how he managed to trouble the England batters as well.

Meanwhile, Ashwin, who completed 500 Test wickets on Day 2 of the Test, had to leave the city due to a family emergency but Kuldeep didn’t let anyone feel his absence as he removed the centurion Ben Duckett for 153 and Jonny Bairstow for duck as well.

“Kuldeep bowled exceptionally well. The trajectory that he bowled to the left-handers. Once he got Johnny Bairstow with the LBW decision, he bowled really well. I thought the trajectory was the key, much quicker today in terms of pace and also the lines that he bowled. He got a bit of turn from the surface and his variations were impeccable, sometimes even troubled Dhruv Jurel behind the stumps,” Anil Kumble said while speaking on JioCinema.

Former England cricketer, Nick, echoed the same and even added that Kuldeep Yadav looked unplayable as the batters struggled to understand his variations as well.

“He was unplayable at times, I think, because England’s batters were struggling to pick him as well. I’m not quite sure if there’s a little bit more work, perhaps off the surface now. That’s perhaps exaggerated because they’re losing wickets, and they’re starting, and you’ve got new batters. So it looks like this, perhaps more going on than there is. But I thought he was terrific,” Nick Knight added.
