Former Indian skipper, MS Dhoni’s place in the team has been questioned quite a few times in last year due to his poor batting form, in the meantime, he has been phenomenal behind the stumps. Currently, his glovework is unmatchable in the cricketing world and the veteran has proved it time and again. His understanding with India’s wrist-spin duo of Yuzvendra Chahal and Kuldeep Yadav is well known and the duo more often than not credit their success to Dhoni.
Dhoni is often seen giving tips to the bowlers, especially spinners while keeping close to the stumps. His comments have often been heard in the stump mics and those are the testament to the fact of his importance in the team. While Dhoni – the batsman – has also found his mojo back at the right time, the Men in Blue look a team to beat now in the upcoming World Cup.
Recently, in a conversation with Indian Express, Kuldeep had all praises for Dhoni and felt that the team is lucky to have him. More than anything, Yadav was in awe of his wicketkeeping skills and the way he takes the bails off before the blink of an eye. He termed that ability of Dhoni as extraordinary and also called him a game-changer.
Kuldeep explained, “Mahi bhai has vast experience and keeps telling us the nitty-gritty of the game. He is like a game changer and we are lucky to have him in our team. But what I find most extraordinary about him is the speed in which he dislodges the stumps. It is simply unbelievable and honestly, I have never played with someone with such quick glovework.”
Meanwhile, the chinaman also said that he is looking forward to the upcoming five-match ODI series against Australia which starts on March 2. He has been rested from the two T20Is which precede and will be played on February 24 and 28.
