The Indian Premier League is no stranger to drama, but this time, it wasn’t just the match result that had fans talking. Following Delhi Capitals’ narrow 14-run defeat to Kolkata Knight Riders on Tuesday, a post-match moment between Kuldeep Yadav and Rinku Singh went viral, sparking a heated online debate.

In a video making the rounds, Kuldeep Yadav is seen slapping Rinku Singh not once but twice just after the game ended at the Arun Jaitley Stadium. Initially laughing it off, Rinku seemed shocked and visibly upset after the second slap, hinting that the exchange may have crossed a line.

While some fans brushed it off as friendly banter between former KKR teammates, others were quick to draw parallels with the infamous 2008 ‘slapgate’ involving Harbhajan Singh and Sreesanth. That incident had led to an 11-match ban for Harbhajan and remains one of IPL’s darkest moments. With memories of that still fresh, several fans are calling for BCCI action against Kuldeep Yadav.

The match itself was a high-stakes affair, with Rinku Singh contributing a crucial 36 off 25 to help KKR post 204/9. Angkrish Raghuvanshi also impressed with a fluent 44. Kuldeep Yadav, however, had a quiet outing with the ball, returning figures of 0/27 from three overs.

Despite valiant efforts from Faf du Plessis (62 off 45) and Axar Patel (43 off 23), DC fell short, ending on 190/9. The result has dented Delhi’s momentum, pushing them down to fourth place in the points table. KKR, meanwhile, still in the hunt, moved up to seventh, hoping this win can be a turning point in their campaign.
