Notably, Kuldeep’s IPL 2021 campaign has been cut short as he has reportedly returned to India from the United Arab Emirates (UAE) after suffering a serious knee injury. Kuldeep, who represented Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in IPL, will miss much of the Ranji Trophy as well.

Kuldeep Yadav suffered the injury while fielding in a practice session, according to PTI. It will now take him some time before he can get to building strength back with intense physiotherapy sessions at the National Cricket Academy (NCA), followed by light intensity training and finally starting with net sessions.
The left-arm spinner has had a rough ride in the past couple of years, after a five-wicket haul in Sydney, when head coach Ravi Shastri had termed him as India’s No. 1 spinner in overseas conditions.

Things changed drastically since the 2019 IPL when Kuldeep Yadav witnessed a sudden dip in form and since then his career went southwards as the Indian team management lost faith in his abilities even on wrist spinners, where classical left-arm orthodox Shahbaz Nadeem was picked from the stand-by squad.
