Currently, the two northern kings, Rajasthan Royals (RR) and Kings XI Punjab (KXIP) at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur. After winning the toss, the RR skipper, Ajinkya Rahane decided to bowl first and his bowlers responded well as Dhawan Kulkarni dismissed KXIP opener, KL Rahul in the first over itself leaving with Mayank Agarwal and Chris Gayle at the crease.
During the toss, the KXIP skipper, R Ashwin revealed foreign players in the squad as Gayle, Mujeeb Zadran, Sam Curran and Nicholas Pooran. ng. On the other hand, RR decided to go with Jos Buttler, Ben Stokes, Steve Smith, and Jofra Archer.
After a rough start, Mayank and Gayle stabilized the innings as they amassed 56 runs for the second wicket. However, the partnership was ended by Krishanappa Gowtham in the 9th over. But a credit of the dismissal should go to Kulkarni, who took a brilliant catch at the long-on boundary.

On the penultimate ball of the over, one Karnataka player dismissed another. Gowtham delivered a length delivery on the off stump and Mayank decided to go for a ferocious hit down the ground straight over the bowler’s head, but he reached just a touch too much underneath the ball and hence, got more elevation than the distance as would’ve expected.

However, the eye-catching thing was the catch taken by Kulkarni at the long-off boundary as he jumped backward with his arms up over his head, and he grabbed the ball with both hands even as his back foot lands pretty close to the boundary cushions. He did a great job to not to step on or beyond them even with his weight going backward.
