Kyle Jamieson Unsure Of Taking Part In IPL 2021 Phase 2

Recently, during a chat with the reporters when the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) all-rounder, Kyle Jamieson was asked if he will be available to feature in the second phase of the IPL, he said that he had “no idea really”. On Saturday, the BCCI announced that the remaining 31 matches of the IPL 2021 will be hosted in UAE as the tournament can’t be taking place in India due to the monsoons.

The 14th edition of the cash-rich league was suspended for an indefinite period due to the second wave of coronavirus pandemic in India. Several players and support staff tested positive for the deadly virus even inside the highly secure bio-bubbles.

Explaining the same, Kyle Jamieson said, “To be fair I have no idea really. That news came out a couple of days ago, we have not had any conversation about it. Our mind is on the Test against England and the final against India. Don’t want to look too far ahead.”

Further, the 26-year-old talked about the upcoming 2-match Test series versus England the following World Test Championship (WTC) final against India from June 18 at the Ageas Bowl, Southampton. Jamieson, who has played 6 Test matches in his career so far, said that he was excited about playing at the Lord’s for the first time in his career. New Zealand faces England from June 2 at the venue.

Talking about the same, Kyle Jamieson said, “It is my first trip to England. I am playing cricket for the first time at Lord’s. If I get distracted by something in two-three weeks’ time then I would end up not being in great shape.”

He further added, “I am just trying to be as mindful as I can around this Test and enjoy. Who knows if it ever happens again for me. So just focusing on this Test and Edgbaston and then the final (against India). It is not going to go away or come any closer so I will take care of this one first.”
