Mayers, given the new ball, did not take much time to make an impact. After conceding a boundary on the very first delivery of the innings, he adjusted his length on the next ball. From over the wicket, he bowled around the sixth-stump line, sending the ball swinging sharply in towards the right-handed batter, Nafay.

The batter, trying to defend, was completely beaten as he left a gap between bat and pad. It smashed into the middle and leg stumps, leaving Nafay walking back to the pavilion in a daze.

Kyle Mayers’ sheer delivery left all of them spellbound, and FanCode shared a clip on social media that showed the wicket with swing: “How much did that ball swing? ???? After getting hit for a boundary on the first ball, Mayers gets the last laugh with this absolute dream of a delivery!” It not only depicted the skill of Mayers but also set the tone for the remaining match.

In his second over, Mayers struck again, dismissing Graham Clark early and reducing Chittagong to 14 for 2. His early breakthroughs put pressure on the opposition, and Chittagong’s batting struggled through the powerplay, finishing at 42/4 after six overs. Despite the early setbacks, Parvez Hossain Imon and Shamim Hossain Patwari fought back, with Shamim scoring a quick-fire 50 off 29 balls.
