Royal Challengers Bangalore’s (RCB) key player AB de Villiers has recently said that the lack of home advantage for every team will balance out the league in the 2021 edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL). However, due to the ongoing pandemic – COVID-19, no team is getting the home advantage and six venues across India have been hosting the league. In a recent interview, de Villiers opened up about this matter and how it balances the odds for each and every side.
“I think it balances out the tournament. It is the same for every team, no one has home games and it really puts emphasis on adapting to different conditions. Every game you play, conditions will be different. The wickets will get older, you will play a different team on the same ground, it is interesting but it is the same for everyone,” AB de Villiers said during a video shared on the RCB’s official Twitter account.

He also shared that the teams which have made their home grounds for their good will be a disadvantage for them this season. And, de Villiers has been playing for RCB since 2011. However, he also shared that he wants to win the IPL title. He has so far played two finals but they failed to win.
He also expressed that he doesn’t have any idea how he will react if he wins the IPL title. “You want to win the trophy, I would love to win the IPL, I do not know how we will react if we win the trophy one day,” AB de Villiers said.

Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) will take on Kolkata Knight Riders on Sunday, April 18.
After the win in their last game, Maxwell said: “It’s a very nice start, new franchise for me and they have given me a specific role. To start like this is really nice. It’s nice to have batters behind you, you have freedom with AB to come and it’s a very similar role I have in the Australian cricket team. The support staff have been backing me as well. It’s just about using the experience. Get myself in and then go for the runs.”
He continued: “Probably having those guys behind me is a luxury at RCB. Maybe was pushed a bit too deep and expected to go from ball one, which I am not pretty good at. Maybe a bit of culture thing as well. Obviously.. I think it’s my 4th IPL team and there’s a bit of pressure. So it was really key for me to turn up and do well. I will wait for my chance to bowl. Washi is a superstar for us. The more I don’t bowl and hopefully I can keep contributing with the bat, the more happy I will be.”
