Former Sri Lanka pace bowler and Mumbai Indians legend Lasith Malinga applauded Lucknow Super Giants pacer Mohsin Khan after his terrific last over against Mumbai Indians on Tuesday. Mohsin, who had missed the majority of the IPL 2023 season, was one of the star players for LSG last year as well. The 24-year-old claimed 14 wickets from nine matches which came at an impressive average of 14.07.

However, a serious shoulder injury saw him sidelined and he returned this season for LSG in the last few matches only. On Tuesday, the left-arm pacer kept his cool of steel as he had to defend 10 overs in the final over for LSG. While playing against Tim David and Cameron Green, Mohsin Khan conceded just five runs in his over and won the game for his team too. Praises have been following in for the youngster after his performance and the latest one was Lasith Malinga.

The former Sri Lankan pace bowler, who made a name for himself in the IPL with his death bowling, showered praise on Mohsin Khan and said that he was impressed by the composure and patience shown by the LSG pacer in the last over as well. Malinga said that it would not have been an easy task even for an experienced bowler and praised Mohsin as a star for the future.

“I’m impressed by the composure and patience shown by Mohsin Khan in that last over. Not an easy task even for an experienced bowler. Saw some really good performances from him in the last season as well. Definitely a one for the future,” wrote Lasith Malinga on Twitter.

However, Mohsin Khan revealed after the match the extent of the injury he had sustained and said that the doctor told him that they would have had to amputate his arm if he was late for treatment.

“It was a medical related thing. I still get scared thinking about it. The doctor told me that if I was late by one month, we would have had to amputate your arm,” further added Mohsin Khan.
