Indian women’s cricket team are all set to travel to England next month where it started with a one-off Test as well. Before they fly to the UK, India captain in the T20 format, Harmanpreet Kaur has revealed the first look of the Test team’s new jersey. The Indian women’s team led by Mithali Raj will play the one-off Test match in Bristol from June 16 as well.
After the Test, Mithali Raj will then lead the team in a series of 3 One Day Internationals and then Harmanpreet Kaur will lead the team in as many T20Is in Bristol, Taunton, Worcester, Northampton, Brighton and Chelmsford from June 27 to July 14 respectively as well.
Harmanpreet Kaur, who has so far played 2 Tests since her international debut in 2009, was in pride as she posted pictures of India’s new Test kit. The Indian women’s cricket team last played Test cricket way back in 2014 when they faced England in a one-off away game at Wormsley in August and South Africa at home in Mysore later that year as well.

Harmanpreet Kaur also revealed the back of her jersey where jersey No. 7 was seen. And, they are ready to fly on June 2 and they will land in the UK on the next day. Currently, all the players are in Mumbai and have been going through their mandatory quarantine period as well. Meanwhile, the team have got their first vaccine shots for Covid-19 and will get their second dose by the UK health department as well.
A Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) source was quoted by PTI saying, “All the players of the Women’s team have got their first dose of vaccination. Most of them got it in their respective cities, while a few who didn’t got their first jabs on Thursday.”

Team India all-rounder Deepti Sharma, on Thursday, took to her Twitter, to write, “Though I am a little scared of needles, but I got myself vaccinated today. I urge people to please get vaccinated as soon as they can! #GotTheDose #We4Vaccine #CovidVaccine.”
