IPL 2018 has been a season of star players missing out the game for injuries or other issues. Likely, Lungi Ngidi, the West Indian pacer who was a part of Chennai Super Kings squad had to leave the camp as his father Jerome Ngidi passed out. His father passed out on Friday and he had to reach to South Africa by Saturday morning.
Jaques Paul who is the CEO of the youngster’s team Titans confirmed the sad news and said to be by the family’s side to support them.
“I can confirm the sad news and our deepest condolences go to his family and friends. As a cricket family‚ we will assist wherever we can at this difficult time for the family‚” Faul said to Times Live.
Things got worse when Ngidi was put to a strip search in an Indian airport on Friday on his way to leave for Johannesburg. The airport whether is Chatrapati Shivaji Stadium or Chennai International Airport is yet to be revealed.
The player even tweeted on social media:
Just to top off my day…..a "random" strip search at the airport…..

In the first test match, he was phenomenal taking a total wicket of 7 in the match. 1/51 in the first innings & 6/39 in the second innings. Thanks to his brilliant bowling that proteas won the 22018 test by 135 runs. What a dream for the young man to get a man of the match awards in his debut game in front of his parents. We hope Ngidi gets up with his loss and all condolences to his family.
