Dhoni lodged the complaint against the IPS officer in response to remarks made by Kumar in relation to Dhoni’s INR 100 crore defamation suit. The suit was filed by Dhoni after he was implicated in the infamous IPL betting scandal in 2013. R. Shanmugasundaram, the Advocate General of Tamil Nadu, has reportedly granted permission to Dhoni to proceed with his case petition.

The Advocate General agreed that Kumar’s remarks amounted to scandalizing court proceedings. Recently, MS Dhoni further solidified his status as one of the greatest captains in IPL history. Despite finishing in ninth place in the IPL 2022 standings, Dhoni led the Chennai Super Kings to a remarkable comeback in 2023. The four-time champions displayed an exceptional performance throughout the 16th edition of the tournament and clinched their fifth IPL title.
