Veteran Indian pace bowler Mohammad Shami’s fitness came under the scanner due to the length of his spells in Bengal’s Ranji Trophy 2026-27 opener against Delhi as well. He bowled 35.3 overs in the match and claimed five wickets across two innings as well. Responding to the criticism, he said that he will send a screenshot of the scorecards if anyone has doubts about his spells as well.

Shami said during an interview with Sports Tak: “If someone has pointed out that I bowl three overs, I have bowled spells of four, five, six, or seven as well. Perhaps it was not pointed out. And if anyone has a doubt, main screenshot bhej dunga (I will send them the screenshot).”

Mohammad Shami also added that he doesn’t need to say anything about his performance as the domestic matches are broadcast live as well.

“You are asking the wrong question to the wrong man. There isn’t much to say because you all are watching everything. The media people attend the matches, and almost everyone covers the matches. There isn’t much hidden; the matches are broadcast live. As far as the questions on fitness and 1-2 over spells are concerned, I don’t feel the need to talk about it because we do what our team demands,” he concluded.
