India’s rising spin sensation Manav Suthar has earned a valuable overseas opportunity after signing a short-term deal with Warwickshire for the next two rounds of the County Championship. The English county club confirmed the move on Wednesday, with the talented left-arm spinner set to feature in matches against Yorkshire and Somerset.

The 23-year-old arrives in England on the back of a dream start to his international career. Suthar made headlines on his Test debut for India against Afghanistan, delivering a match-winning performance that showcased his immense potential in red-ball cricket.
Before breaking into the Indian Test side, Manav Suthar had already built an impressive first-class record, claiming 129 wickets in just 29 matches. Warwickshire believe his ability to generate turn, bounce, and control will add significant depth to their bowling attack as they continue their pursuit of County Championship success.

Suthar’s performance against Afghanistan underlined why he is regarded as one of India’s brightest spin prospects. On a slow New Chandigarh surface, he consistently troubled Afghanistan’s batters with his drift, sharp turn, and disciplined lines. The left-arm spinner claimed six wickets in the first innings, playing a crucial role in forcing the visitors to follow on.

He continued his dominance in the second innings as well, helping India bowl Afghanistan out for just 112 runs. The hosts eventually secured a historic innings-and-300-run victory, their biggest-ever win in Test cricket.
With his confidence soaring, Manav Suthar is also expected to remain firmly in India’s plans for the upcoming Test series against Sri Lanka later this year.
