Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) failed to witness a good start while chasing the target of 182 runs against Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) as they were down to 148/6 in 18 overs. All-rounder, Marcus Stoinis was seen fuming at himself after Josh Hazlewood cleaned him up in the 19th over, and with that, all the hopes of LSG winning the game were finished. Faf du Plessis’ 96 helped RCB to set a target of 182 for victory against LSG.

Earlier in the game, Dushmantha Chamira dismissed Anuj Rawat (4) and Virat Kohli (0) in the first over. Glenn Maxwell (23) batted hard but he perished after a catch from Jason Holder. Holder then took the wicket of Suyash Prabhudesai and reduced to RCB 62 for 4. Shahbaz Ahmed and du Plessis put on a vital partnership of 70 off 48 balls. Jason Holder took Faf’s wicket for four in the final over. RCB managed to score 181 runs for the loss of 6 wickets.

In the second innings, Virat Kohli was seen leading as Faf was not on the field. Lucknow suffered a blow on 17 as Josh Hazlewood dismissed Quinton de Kock early. After Virat led for a few overs, Faf returned to the field and took over the captaincy. But for some time, fans were happy to Virat leading again.

Hazelwood also dismissed LSG’s Manish Pandey’s (6) in the next over to give RCB a big push. Lucknow sent Krinal Pandya to bat and it was an unexpected move. Meanwhile, Lokesh Rahul has crossed the 6,000-run mark in Twenty20 cricket. Coming back to the game, LSG kept on losing wickets in the middle overs.

Josh Hazlewood came out to bowl the 19th over when LSG was requiring 34 runs in 12 balls. Marcus Stoinis shuffled way outside off as compared to the previous ball that was not called a wide and wass standing almost on the wide guideline trying to play a full ball into the leg side and only manage to get an inside edge and the ball crashed onto the stumps. Stoinis let out a massive “F*** you!” that can be heard through the stump mic clear as day before walking off.
