South Africa head coach Mark Boucher has said that the rest of the 2021 Indian Premier League (IPL) will be helpful for the upcoming mega event – T20 World Cup which is slated to take place in the UAE. Notably, IPL 2021 will resume there only considering the covid-19 situation in mind.
However, Boucher said that he expects conditions in the UAE will be similar to Grenada, where South Africa defeated the West Indies team 3-2 in a T20I series as well.

“It’s going to be tough to bat on especially at the back end, like we saw here. We will have an idea of what scores are going to be by watching the IPL and then taking a look and assessing how the wickets are playing during the beginning of the World Cup. I suspect spinners will play a massive role,” Boucher is quoted as saying by ESPNCricinfo.
“We are probably going to be playing in conditions like this in the UAE. The wickets after the IPL are going to be a bit dry. It’s not the same as we’re used to back in South Africa where you can go out and bash your way to 180 to 200 runs. You’ve got to be skillful here; you’ve got to be smart,” further added Mark Boucher.

On the other hand, recently South Africa speedster Dale Steyn, who is known for his deadly bowling has shared that he has a regret of not focusing on his batting enough. “When I was in my first academy year after school, I had a bad hamstring injury. So about six months, I didn’t really bowl. So, I decided I was going to bat. I batted at number three and ended up getting Batsman-of-the-Year at my academy. I mean it’s ridiculous. And then I went to Pretoria to join the Titans,” Dale Steyn said to Sanjay Manjrekar in an interaction on ESPN Cricinfo.
