Under the captaincy of Jos Buttler, England has suffered another injury setback ahead of their gigantic semi-final clash against India at the Adelaide Oval after speedster Mark Wood pulled up in training on Tuesday. The pacer failed to take part in the session any further and will face a fitness test ahead of the crunch match according to reports.
The Three Lions are already sweating on the fitness of star batter Dawid Malan, who sustained a groin injury against Sri Lanka in their last outing of the Super 12 stage. But the latest setback to their premier pacer is a cause for a major headache for Jos Buttler. Mark Wood set the tournament on fire with his rapid deliveries, scalping nine wickets in the process.

Mark Wood stop midway in his run-up during England’s training session on Tuesday ahead of the clash against Rohit Sharma’s India and was restricted to the dressing room after his reported injury. His participation in the semi-final is in doubt, with a fitness test required to assess his involvement in the match.
Meanwhile, the former no.1 T20I batter in the world, Dawid Malan, was seen taking part in a light training session in the presence of the England medics monitoring his groin injury. In case Malan fails to regain fitness in time, Phil Salt will probably be replacing the star batter in the England batting order.
Earlier, Malan’s teammate Moeen Ali had revealed that it wasn’t looking great for the top-order batter, who was unlikely to feature for the Three Lions against India.
